This special class is only available to members of the Staunton Clayground. Please bring a couple of prepped (sanded and waxed) bisqueware pieces to glaze and decorate with tiny shards of stained glass. An ideal piece would have short edges that would contain the glass when it heats up in the kiln and melts into a pool. Esther will describe and demonstrate various techniques of embellishing one’s work with this medium. She will discuss pitfalls as well as tips for success, such as how to avoid oversaturating colors and preventing large fracturs. Glass can be used on wheel thrown pieces and hand-built sculptures alike. Take this class and gain confidence in this often overlooked, ambrosial wing of the pottery world. Beginners welcome.
