Intro to Handbuilding - Tuesday Evenings Starting September 1
Tuesdays, September 1 - October 6, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Step into your creativity with this inspiring handbuilding masterclass. The instructor will cover sculpting, coil building, soft/hard slab construction, decorative and texturizing techniques, as well as glazing methods. Students will learn all essential handbuilding techniques, making several artistic, functional pieces to take home. In the process, they will learn how to use slump and drape molds, a slab roller, carving tools, and a clay extruder for coil building. Class projects may include but are not limited to plates, bowls, mugs, vases, planters, utensil holders, book ends, animal sculptures, and more. All pieces made will be food, oven, and dishwasher safe. This is an introductory course, no experience necessary.
6-week class, 12 hours total. Maximum 8 students (ages 14+).
