Large Coil-Built Vessels - Saturday Afternoons Starting June 13
Saturday Afternoons, June 13 - July 18, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Saturday, August 8, 12:00 - 2:00 pm Glazing Day
No Class on July 4
Do you want to learn one of the most fundamental and historic forms of handbuilding? From functional to sculptural, coil building can be used to make anything from simple vases and pots to ornate sculptures and oversized vessels. Designed for both beginners and intermediate students, in this class we will begin with coil building basics, then progress to more sculptural or structurally ambitious pieces. Over the course of 4 weeks, students will have the opportunity to design and create two distinct projects, with extra allotments of clay and firing space. There will be a two-week break, (giving the clay vessels ample time to dry). In the fourth class, students will glaze their masterpieces.
Max 6 students (Ages 14+)
Instructor: Anya Beldon
