    In this class students will be making a set of giant beads (both handbuilt and thrown on the wheel) that will later be strung onto a piece of rebar to fashion a trendy garden totem sculpture. This is your chance to make this artistic piece to your own liking, in the color palette of your choosing. Students will be able to implement any theme that inspires them or simply make the shapes that speak to them. The class will use impressions of real plants, practice carving, and using underglaze transfers. The sculpture will be crowned with a spherical shape that features a hand-sculpted animal. Rebar and washers (to fit between beads) will be provided.

Handbuilding & Decorating Classes

    Join this class and learn to knit in the continental style—renowned for superior efficiency and speed. Over the course of six weeks, students will master several new stitches, understand how to obtain gauge, manage tension, and take home several finished pieces of clothing including a hat, a dishcloth, fingerless gloves, and more. The instructor will gradually introduce casting on, binding off, the knit stitch, purl stitch, working decreases, knitting in the round, and even using double pointed needles. After completing this course, students will have the skills to easily comprehend and follow any pattern from home, and there will truly be no limits to what they can knit!
